Our main interest at the Chair of Solid State Physics is Surface Physics. We investigate structural, electronic and dynamical processes of and at solid surfaces. To that end we use and develop experimental methods that allow us prepare systems of interest that are well-defined at the atomic or molecular scale. Therefore most of the experiments, i.e. preparation and investigation of surfaces, are carried out under ultra-high vacuum conditions.
